What I do
I am a brand strategist, ghostwriter and communications consultant based in Dar es Salaam. I work with executives, founders, public figures and the organisations they lead, across Tanzania and East Africa.
Most of my clients already have the substance. They run good companies, hold real positions and do serious work. What they often lack is a clear, consistent story about who they are and why it matters, told in the places where the right people will see it. That is the gap I close.
In practice that means deciding on a position you can defend, writing and directing the content that carries it, and building the visibility that puts it in front of the people you want to reach. The detail is on the services page.
Where I have worked
I have spent years building brand, content and communications work for organisations across the region, both inside agencies such as Neiked! and Century and as an independent consultant. The organisations I have worked with include technology and consumer brands, law and policy bodies, insurers, foundations and public figures. A cross-section is on the work page.
I also run UNLCK Group, a creative company with divisions in influencer marketing, publishing and production, and I am editor-in-chief of Madini Magazine. Those roles keep me close to how content is actually made, distributed and paid for.
How I think about authority
- Authority is earned in public. People trust what they can see. A strong position that nobody has seen is worth very little, so the work always includes where and how you show up.
- Positioning is a decision. It is what you choose to be known for, and just as much what you choose to leave out. Most brands lose ground by trying to say everything.
- Consistency beats volume. A clear message repeated for a year does more than a burst of content in a month.
- Proof comes first. Titles, results, clients and ideas are the raw material. My job is to organise them so they are easy to believe.
Who I work with
Executives and founders who want to be known for something specific. Public figures who need their story told properly and kept consistent. Organisations that need a brand position the whole team can repeat. If you are not sure which of those you are, the first conversation will sort it out.
How we start
Every engagement begins with a 30 minute conversation about your objectives, your audience and where you are today. If it looks like a fit, I follow with a short written proposal. If it does not, I will say so and, where I can, point you to someone better suited.
From there the work runs in four stages: briefing, strategy, execution and report. You can see how each one works on the services page.
Questions people ask
Where are you based?
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I work with clients across East Africa, in person and remotely.
Do you only work with individuals?
No. I work with individual leaders and with organisations. Personal branding for an executive and brand strategy for a company are different pieces of work, and I treat them that way.
How do I get started?
Book a 30 minute consultation. We talk through what you want to be known for, who needs to know it and what is in the way.
